Our History
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church was organized by Swedish pioneers to Buena Vista County. Over the years we have grown in membership and facilities through the devoted efforts of pastors and members. From early in our history the congregation has shown a strong commitment to the mission of proclaiming God’s Word throughout the world. We have supported foreign mission work in India, China, Africa, and more recently, Indonesia as well as the start of new congregations in our own country.
Although still celebrating it’s Swedish heritage, Our Savior’s Evangelical Lutheran Church is a vital congregation composed of many people from many different ethnic backgrounds, serving in our immediate vicinity, a primarily agricultural community, but in our larger outreach, a rich variety of people around the world.
